There are times when life feels heavier than usual. We try our best, make prayers, and keep moving forward, yet things do not seem to change. Questions begin to arise, our hearts grow weary, and sometimes we feel as though we have to face everything on our own.
In moments like these, we may not always need complicated answers. Sometimes, we simply need to pause, calm our hearts, and remember that Allah is always the One we can turn to.
This is the central message of Ustadz Agam Fachrul’s Islamic talk, titled “Stay Calm, Allah Will Never Abandon You.” The talk invites Muslims to strengthen their faith, develop a better understanding of Allah’s wisdom, and learn to face life’s challenges with patience and trust in Him.
When Life Does Not Go According to Plan
Life does not always unfold the way we expect. Some prayers seem unanswered, certain hopes remain unfulfilled, and plans we have carefully made may need to be postponed. These situations can leave us wondering why things are happening the way they are.
Feeling disappointed, sad, or exhausted is part of being human. However, when facing difficult circumstances, it is important not to let hardship take away our hope.
In the Quran, Surah Ad-Duha, verse 3, Allah says:
“Your Lord has not abandoned you, nor has He become hateful of you.”
This verse reminds us of Allah’s reassurance to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) during a difficult period. It can also serve as a reminder for us to continue placing our hope in Allah rather than immediately assuming that hardship means we have been abandoned.
Through Ustadz Agam Fachrul’s Islamic talk, this message becomes an opportunity to reflect on how we respond to situations that do not meet our expectations.
Learning to See Life’s Challenges from a Different Perspective
When problems arise, we sometimes focus entirely on the pain we are experiencing. We want things to improve quickly, our problems to disappear, and life to return to the way we imagined it would be.
Yet, we may not immediately understand the wisdom behind everything that happens.
In Islam, life’s challenges can become opportunities to improve ourselves, develop patience, and strengthen our relationship with Allah. This does not mean we must always appear strong or keep our sadness to ourselves.
We are allowed to feel tired, cry, and seek help when life becomes difficult. What matters is that we continue to hold on to hope and seek constructive ways to move forward.
Sometimes, peace does not come because our problems suddenly disappear. Instead, it begins to grow when we accept that certain things are beyond our control while continuing to make an effort and pray for guidance.
Learning to Place Our Trust in Allah
One of the hardest things to do during difficult times is to maintain a positive view of Allah’s wisdom. When our prayers do not receive the answers we hoped for, we may begin to wonder whether our efforts and prayers have been worthwhile.
However, we do not always know how or when help will come. What we want today may not necessarily be what is best for us in the long run.
In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 216, Allah reminds us that we may dislike something that is good for us and love something that is harmful to us. Allah knows, while we do not know.
This reminder does not mean we should stop trying or accept every situation without taking action. Instead, we are encouraged to continue making sincere efforts while leaving the final outcome to Allah.
The theme “Stay Calm, Allah Will Never Abandon You” encourages us to reflect on our relationship with Allah and learn to trust His wisdom, even when we cannot yet understand the answers to all our questions.
Finding Peace Through Prayer and Prostration
Amid busy schedules, work demands, family responsibilities, and personal expectations, we sometimes forget to make time to pause and care for our inner well-being.
Yet, prayer, dhikr (remembrance of Allah), reading the Quran, and performing salah with greater focus can help us reconnect with our faith and find moments of peace.
In Surah Ar-Ra’d, verse 28, the Quran reminds us that hearts find comfort in the remembrance of Allah.
Remembering Allah does not mean that every problem will immediately disappear. However, worship can help us regain perspective, strengthen our hearts, and approach our difficulties with greater calmness.
When we feel overwhelmed, we can start with simple steps: make an honest dua, share our worries with Allah, and ask Him for the strength and guidance to face another day.
We also do not have to face every challenge alone. Speaking with someone we trust and seeking appropriate support can be part of our efforts to navigate difficult periods in life.
Strengthening Faith and Continuing to Move Forward
Patience does not mean standing still, and tawakkul—placing our trust in Allah—does not mean giving up on our efforts.
Both go hand in hand with taking action. We continue trying to improve our circumstances, make thoughtful decisions, and learn from our experiences while recognizing that the final outcome is not always within our control.
Perhaps today we have not received the answer we were hoping for. Perhaps the journey feels longer than we expected. Even so, we can still pray, work on ourselves, and take small steps toward a better situation.
Ustadz Agam Fachrul’s Islamic talk, “Stay Calm, Allah Will Never Abandon You,” offers a reminder not to lose hope when life becomes difficult. It is an opportunity to reflect on our relationship with Allah, understand the importance of patience, and approach life with renewed faith.
